Common questions
How long does a heat-loss survey take?
A typical 3-bed home takes 30–45 minutes if you measure each room with a tape, or about 10 minutes per room with the mobile scan flow. You can save and resume.
Will the calculation be MCS-compliant?
Yes. We follow BS EN 12831 and MCS 3005-D for heat loss, BS EN 442 for radiator sizing, and MCS 020 for outdoor-unit noise. Your installer's MCS number signs off the final report.
How do I claim a BUS / ECO4 / GBIS grant?
Once your design is signed off, the report includes the data needed for grant applications. Your installer files on your behalf for BUS; for ECO4 / GBIS / HEEPS we share the design pack with the obligated supplier.
What if I am offline mid-survey?
The app saves your draft locally. When you reconnect, it uploads in the background. The yellow banner at the top warns you when data may be stale.
Who owns my data?
You do. Anvul Ltd is the controller, {{ trading_name|default:"FreeMCS" }} is the processor. You can export or delete your data at any time. See the privacy policy for full details.
How do I report a problem with the install?
Use the “Raise a concern” section on your install dashboard, or email {{ support_email|default:"support@freemcs.com" }}. We aim to respond within one working day.
